Aalo, Aug 28: A 3-day community volunteers training on Disaster Management and Response for one hundred volunteers under 31-Aalo East Assembly Constituency commenced today at Gumin Kinn Hall Aalo. Dorjee Nima DDMO highlighted the details of the disaster training to the volunteers.
ADC Mabi Taipodia Jini in her speech urged the disaster management volunteers to complete the entire training programme. The Galo tribe practiced the ‘Langka’ system since time immemorial where one male person from the village looks after the village the entire day, especially for fire safety; the system is still prevalent in Galo villages. Disaster may occur any time, she said requesting the volunteers to be ready.
The training programme on basic of Disaster Management and response for village level community volunteers was jointly organised by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and the District administration. The same training programme will be conducted at Aalo West and Liromoba.
Total of nine days will be imparted by the DDMA. The whole training will cover the understanding of landslide, heat wave, technique of lifting and stabilizing of casualties   and way to control bleeding during any incident.
DDMO requested the disaster management volunteers to help the people during the time of natural calamities, accident etc.
