Kalaktang, Aug 24: The first phase of the Community Volunteers training program on basic disaster response kicked off today at the Kalaktang Sub-Division.
ADC Kalaktang M. Loyi attended as the Chief Guest in presence of EAC, Kalaktang Tsering Choedon, DDMO West Kameng, Mindu Yangzom and participants from remote villages of Chingi, Dengzi, and Kalaktang area.
The 3-day training is being organised by district disaster management authority (DDMA),West Kameng District in collaboration with the Fire Service team of Bomdila and local administration.
On the first day, items like jerseys, ID cards etc., were handed over to the community volunteers. Items such as solar lamps, first aid kits, and raincoats will be distributed on the final day of the program. The program aims to impart basic training to the youths in order to ensure their active participation in case any disaster happens at the community level. (DIPRO)
