ITANAGAR, Nov 1: In a significant effort to bolster educational standards and improve CBSE examination results, Commissioner Education, Amjad Tak, conducted a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners and District Education Officers on Wednesday. The aim of the meeting was to update and actively involve district officials in the department's ongoing educational initiatives.
During the meeting, Tak emphasized the pivotal role of Deputy Commissioners in advancing educational initiatives within their respective districts. He highlighted the essential support from DCs to bring about improvements in the state's educational landscape.
Special Secretary of Education, Ira Singhal informed the DCs about the department's new initiatives. She introduced the "Bagless Saturdays" program, implemented state-wide to encourage students and promote a more engaged school life. She urged DCs to actively participate in this initiative.
The key highlights of the meeting were the introduction of a new Career Counselling portal, developed in collaboration with UNICEF India. The DCs were encouraged to ensure that every school in the state introduced not only students but also parents to this invaluable resource. The portal provides information on more than 500 different professions in various fields, serving as a vital career planning tool.
In addition to these initiatives, DCs were requested to monitor the effective implementation of the School Readiness Program and Learning Recovery Program, alongside classroom teaching plans in schools. These tools play a crucial role in bringing all students to the required learning levels, promoting consistent grade-wise learning across the state, and eliminating disparities between schools.
DCs were also urged to make the 10th and 12th class toolkits for CBSE Exams, developed by SCERT, available to all students. The meeting also included planning for the School Mentorship Program and Teacher's Manthan Shivir, stated a release.
