PASIGHAT, Oct 24: The Government Secondary School, Balek, established in the pre-independence era of 1946, is all set to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee from Wednesday (October 25-27).
The school, which has produced many eminent personalities who have contributed immensely in shaping the future of Modern Arunachal Pradesh in various spheres, has preserved it archives with a deep sense of pride and nostalgia of its past alumni and teachers and the land donor for setting up the school, late Ketem Yomso.
The Platinum Jubilee Celebration (PJC) 2023 will be graced by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and East Arunachal Loksabha MP Tapir Gao as Guest of Honour and host of dignitaries.
The Valedictory function on October 27th will be graced by DCM Chowna Mein as Chief Guest, UD Minister Kamlung Mossang as Guest of Honour and Information Commissioner Gumjum Haider as Special Guest.
The celebration Committee is headed by Chief Patron (PJCC-23), local MLA Kaling Moyong, along with the Chairman (PJCC-23) Oyem Dai, Organizing Secretary (PJCC-23 ), Tobom Dai, Chairman SMC (GSS Balek) Bani Perme and Headmaster (GSS Balek) Kalom Ering with active support from all stakeholders.
Experts from various fields will interact and deliver on their respective subject matters ranging from career counselling, NEP 2020, Mental health, community awareness, social media, environment & conservation and wide range of themes, agri-entrepreneurship as part of parent-teacher-student special session & Alumni-student-youth will also feature during the three-day celebration including cultural events.
