ITANAGAR, Nov 24: A day after the Education Department terminated 255 employees including Primary Teachers (PRT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Lower Division Clerks (LDC), Upper Division Clerks (UDC), and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) from different districts, Chief Minister Pema Khandu assured that strict action would be taken against those government officials involved in the job scam.
Responding to reporters' queries, CM Khandu reiterated that the government under his leadership is totally against any kind of corruption. "Since day one, I have repeatedly stated that corruption will not be tolerated in any form, and no one will be spared. Those officials involved in the scam will face punishment," he said.
While acknowledging that the Education Department is one of the largest departments with many staff, the Chief Minister asserted that usually vacant positions have to be recruited under APSSB or APPSC. However, some officials, while ignoring the laid do
wn norms, manipulated various positions in the department. "Those found involved in the scam will not be spared, and justice will be delivered," he assured while informing that the SIC is also investing the scam.
Meanwhile, when asked about the recent representation by the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee demanding action on its 13-point demands related to the APPSC job scam, CM Khandu informed that he is yet to read the representation. "I was on an official tour as of now, so I will surely look into their representation after reaching the office," he added.
