DAHUNG, Oct 23: The Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies (CIHCS) successfully hosted a three-day National Seminar on "Exploring Pramānavārtika in Nalanda Traditions" from October 21 to 23. The event brought together over 20 eminent Buddhist scholars from across India to delve into the philosophical insights and contemporary relevance of the ancient text "Pramānavārtika."
The seminar featured in-depth deliberations, discussions, and debates, creating a vibrant intellectual environment. Participants explored the profound contributions of the "Pramānavārtika" to Buddhist philosophy and its enduring significance in modern times. The event was marked as a great success, encouraging scholarly inquiry and collaboration.
The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Gurmet Dorjey, Director of CIHCS, who emphasized the critical role of philosophical inquiry in today’s world. Dr. Dorjey urged participants to deeply engage with the teachings discussed during the seminar. His opening remarks set the tone for the event, inspiring rigorous exploration of the text’s themes.
In addition to the academic sessions, a cultural program featuring performances by CIHCS students added a lively touch to the event. The cultural presentations further enriched the experience, showcasing the institute's commitment to preserving and promoting Himalayan traditions.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Aakash Shah, Administrative Accounts Officer (AAO) of CIHCS, who expressed his gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and organizers for their dedication and hard work in making the seminar a resounding success, stated a release.
