Jemeithang, Apr 11: In a significant move towards strengthening governance, development, and community engagement in one of the most remote and strategically important regions of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, undertook his maiden official visit to Jemeithang, located along the Indo-China border.

Gupta explored several key locations, including the scenic Sangetsar Lake and the historically significant Khendzemane and 12th-century Gorsam Stupa. The visit aimed at assessing the region’s development potential while also acknowledging its spiritual, cultural, and natural richness.
A comprehensive review meeting was held with the heads of various departments to evaluate the progress of ongoing developmental projects and discuss administrative priorities. The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of promoting tourism—especially spiritual, cultural, historical, and adventure tourism—enhancing cleanliness, and empowering self-reliant panchayats. He encouraged all stakeholders to harness Jemeithang’s unique potential in these areas for sustainable growth.
Highlighting the government’s focus on environmental responsibility, the Chief Secretary also inspected the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in the region. Commending the efforts of the Jemeithang Waste Management Committee, he assured all possible support from the administration to ensure the success of the initiative and reinforce sustainable waste management practices.
This visit marks a pivotal step toward inclusive and participatory development in Arunachal Pradesh’s border areas, reaffirming the government’s commitment to progress and prosperity in every corner of the state.
