ITANAGAR, Nov 24: The special summary revision exercise with January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date is currently under way from October 27 to December 9 next and final publication of electoral roll is scheduled on 5th January next year.
A consultative review meeting on progress of the special summary revision of electoral rolls was chaired by Chief Electoral Officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Pawan Kumar Sain with SPNO Chukhu Apa, District Election Officers and Superintendent of Police of all the districts.
On the occasion, the CEO gave guidelines to the officers participating in the meeting regarding qualitative improvement in the special summary revision by increasing the Elector Population ratio (EP ratio) in their respective districts. He urged all the DEOs to ensure that the appointed Booth Level Officers are proactively performing house to house verification. 
The demographically similar entries, photo similar entries, dead and duplicate voters were to be removed as per SOP and all the pending forms in the district are to be disposed of on priority. Other important issues such as deposition of licence firearms to be ascertained by DEOs and SPs, strengthening vigilance in check gates, status of electoral offences and preventive measures to put in place were discussed. 
Speaking on the issue, SPNO Chukhu Apa directed all the SPs to provide accurate data related to FIR on electoral offence cases.
The chair prioritised that election related activity should be performed with utmost dedication and there should be no room for lackadaisical approach. Joint CEO Liken Koyu and Deputy CEO Shania Kayem Mize were also present in the meeting.
