TEZU, Oct 8: “An hour of reading daily is a must for everyone – whether rich or poor, rural or urban, student or an officer. That’s what Bamboosa Library has taught me”, said Pawan Kumar Sain, Chief Electoral Officer cum Commissioner Urban Development, as he reminisced his early days in Tezu and his association with the newly founded Bamboosa Library during 2006 & 2007. He was addressing students, library volunteers, teachers and officers at the valedictory function of the 3rd batch of Read Aloud Sessions for All (RASA ) 2023 training organised jointly by the Bamboosa Library, Tezu, Denning College for Teacher Education & the District Education Department.
Talking of his school days with poor exposure to English language, Sain explained how systematic reading habits enabled him to improve and master English language. He lauded the student-participants from the Telluliang Govt Sec School who put up reading and poem recitation demonstrations and the B. Ed trainee-volunteers who trained them in Bamboosa Library. He also donated a set of books to the library.
Sain was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Lohit Shashvat Saurabh, Chief Engineer Urban Development Taring Darang, Hano Takka, Director, Local Urban Body, Itanagar, Assistant Commissioner Tezu Kamleshwar Rao, and other officers.
