ITANAGAR, Sep 2: In a significant development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against three accused, including a former Deputy Commissioner and two officials, in a corruption case related to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng, Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh.
The accused named in the chargesheet are Smt. Padma Jaiswal, IAS (AGMUT: 2003), who served as the then Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng, Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Nor Bahadur Sonar, who was the then Financial and Accounts Officer (F&AO) in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, and Shri Rinchin Phuntsok, who served as the then Cashier in the same office.
The chargesheet, filed on September 2, 2024, alleges that the accused were involved in corrupt practices during their tenure in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng. The CBI investigation has reportedly uncovered evidence of wrongdoing, leading to the filing of the chargesheet.
This development marks a significant step in the pursuit of accountability and transparency in governance. The case will now proceed to trial, where the accused will face charges related to corruption, stated a release.
