ITANAGAR, June 27: At least 15 ANM nurses from the 37th batch of the School of Nursing Rama Krishna Mission Hospital participated in the capping, lamp lighting and oath-taking ceremony.
The event was attended by Srimat Swami Satyeshanandaji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary of RK Mission, Belur Math, as the Chief Guest, and  Deputy Commissioner of Itanagar, Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC in her address, appealed to the newly capped ANMs and the wider nursing community to serve society and humanity with dedication. Highlighting the critical role of nurses, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, she commended their unwavering commitment despite numerous challenges.
"The nursing profession is the noblest of jobs, as demonstrated during the two challenging years of the COVID pandemic. This ceremony signifies a pivotal point for you all as you step into the professional world, carrying the responsibility and honor of the nursing profession," stated Mehta. She encouraged the students to embark on their new journey with a strong sense of duty and commitment, drawing parallels to the selfless service of Mother Teresa. "Every nurse is a replica of Great Mother Teresa, serving humanity. You are a priceless resource, and your worth will be reflected in your service to the healthcare sector. Focus on your goals and stay true to your mission despite any challenges," she added.
Academic prizes were also distributed to meritorious students by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour, recognizing their exceptional achievements.
Lakshmi Chetri, Principal of the Nursing School of RK Mission, noted that this capping ceremony was particularly significant as it was the first to be held after four sessions were delayed due to the pandemic. She expressed pride in the attendance of Maharaj from Belur Math, emphasizing the importance of the event for the institution. "With 182 centers of Rama Krishna Mission worldwide, the presence of Maharaj despite his busy schedule is a matter of great pride for us," she remarked.
