ITANAGAR, Dec 8: District Administration Capital Itanagar with an aim to improve the overall education scenario and also keeping in view the importance of digital tools and technologies for learning, is starting smart classes for the students of Classes VIII to XII here at Itanagar in collaboration with BYJUs. 
ADC Shweta Nagarkoti informed that initially the project will be implemented in two government schools of Itanagar -- GHSS Arunodaya and Mallo Tarin GHSS as a pilot project. The ADC further informed that the project has been initiated with a vision to make quality content and teachers accessible to students anywhere. She said that the app would be significant for education as it provides interactive and engaging learning content across various subjects. By incorporating innovative teaching methods, she hoped that the students would get motivated in learning thereby increasing their interest in studies. 
The teachers after undergoing online training will provide classroom education through the smart monitor installed in classrooms with the help of BYJUs app. Students have also been provided access to the app through which they can go through their courses from any device at home or anywhere. The project is being sponsored by BYJUs under  corporate social responsibility. All the teachers of Class VIII to XII of GHSS Arunodaya attended the training.
