ITANAGAR, Dec 20: Capital Complex FC defeated United Tawang FC 9-2 in a one-sided first match of the day played today in the 8th Eagle  Trophy Football Championship 2023 at Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium,Yupia and qualified for the semis as the Group Winner of Pool B.
Dorjee Tsewang (7’,24’), Rawang Hakun(15’, 35’) and Akash Taw (29’, 38’) scored a brace each for CCFC while Olik Tayeng (15’), Hage Serbo (70’) and Tagru James(80’) contributed a goal each to complete the white wash. Tenzin Sangey of Utd Tawang FC also scored two goals for his team.
In a thrilling encounter for the last remaining semifinal slot, Keyi Panyor FC defeated Minu FC by 4-3 and booked a place in the semis. It was Minu FC who took the lead in the 20th minute through Onak Tawe which was later equalized by Keyi Panyor FC in the 30th minute with the help of Techi David’s goal. Gamli Rime again extended the lead for Minu FC in the 38th minute of the first half. In the second half, Keyi Panyor FC came back from behind and scored three goals. Ocean Ratan (48’), Niktar Nido(53’), Techi David (62’) scored for KYFC. Third goal for Minu FC was scored by Onak Tawe in the 80th minute but KPFC held on to the lead till the last whistle.
Both Semi Finals will be played on December 22 next.
First Semi Final will be played between Pool A winner, Todo United FC and Pool B Runner Up, Keyi Panyor FC at 10:30 AM while Pool B Topper, Capital Complex FC will face Gora Makik SC in the second semi final at 1:30 PM.
