Itanagar, Oct 1: The Arunachal Pradesh Space Application Centre (APSAC) in collaboration with North Eastern Space Application Centre (NESAC) organised a one-day workshop on Capacity building on utility of Geo-spatial data and NeSDR portal at ICAR-NRCY Conference hall, Dirang.
The workshop was attended by Advisor (Science & Technology & PWD), Phurpa Tsering among others.
The workshop was attended by more than 80 officers from various departments of West Kameng, East Kameng, Tawang and Pakke-Kessang district.
Dr. H. Dutta, Director, APSAC made a detailed presentation on remote sensing and GIS activities of APSAC. Besides, the daylong workshop covered various topics on introduction to remote sensing and GIS techniques and its applications in NER, Ground Water Prospects and Utility Mapping, Large Scale thematic Mapping, Importance of North Eastern Spatial data Repository (NeSDR) portal for empowering governance activities in various developmental sectors, Arunachal Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (APSSDI), Drone surveys & LiDAR mapping, Wetland and Glacier mapping, delivered by scientists/ engineers of APSAC and NESAC.
Advisor Phurpa Tsering appreciated the initiatives taken by APSAC and NESAC in organising capacity building programme on uses of Geo-spatial data in different parts of Arunachal Pradesh. He urged the officers of various departments to make use of geo-spatial data available with APSAC for planning and implementation of developmental activities in the state.
