TEZU, Aug 28: Students for Seva (SFS) initiative, led by the ABVP Indira Gandhi Government College Unit, successfully organised a two-day book donation drive at the college campus, focusing on the collection and distribution of various types of books. The event aimed to encourage knowledge sharing among students and support academic excellence.
The drive collected a total of 256 books, which included curriculum books, fiction and non-fiction titles, and self-help books. The response from students and faculty was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the community's commitment to education and personal development.
Out of the total books collected, 212 were distributed among the first and second-semester students of the college, ensuring they have access to essential study materials. The remaining books were donated to the college library, further enriching its collection and providing long-term benefits to the entire student body.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants for their generosity and support, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in promoting a culture of learning and mutual assistance within the college community. The SFS and ABVP Unit plan to continue similar efforts in the future, with the aim of fostering academic growth and unity among students.
The event's success not only provided students with valuable resources but also underscored the spirit of giving and community that is central to the SFS mission, said SFS State co-convener, Miss Yage Tayeng.
