ITANAGAR, Jun 1: Tarh Tarak, the BJP state president in charge, has expressed strong optimism about the party's prospects in the upcoming assembly elections. With the counting of votes for the 50 constituencies scheduled for Sunday, Tarak is confident that the BJP will secure a majority and form the next government.
Speaking to the media, Tarak highlighted that the BJP already has an advantage with 10 MLAs elected unopposed. "I believe that the remaining seats will be won by the BJP," he asserted. This optimistic outlook comes as the party aims to capitalize on its current momentum and widespread support.
In addition to his confidence in winning the elections, Tarak expressed unwavering support for the incumbent Chief Minister, Pema Khandu. "There is no competitor for the CM candidate against Pema Khandu," Tarak stated. He praised Khandu's dedication and developmental approach, suggesting that these qualities make him the ideal candidate to continue leading the state.
"Due to his dedication towards the state and his developmental approach, he is the sole runner for the CM post, and I believe he will retain the chair," Tarak added. However, he also acknowledged that the final decision regarding the CM position lies with the party's high command.
While expressing his personal belief in Khandu's leadership, Tarak emphasized that the ultimate decision regarding the Chief Minister's position will be made by the party's central leadership. Despite this, his confidence in Khandu’s reappointment remains strong.
