ITANAGAR, Jun 11: Following weeks of anticipation after the declaration of Assembly results on June 2 last, the formation of a new BJP-led government in Arunachal Pradesh is on the horizon. Despite securing a clear majority with 46 MLAs, the suspense surrounding the leadership has persisted. Today, BJP's central leader has confirmed that a vital meeting of BJP legislators will be held soon, with senior party leaders from Delhi assigned to facilitate the process.
An official communique from the BJP announced that the central leadership has appointed senior leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and party General Secretary Tarun Chugh as observers. Their mandate is to oversee the selection of the legislators’ party leader in Arunachal Pradesh. Both Prasad and Chugh are expected to travel to the state shortly to convene this crucial meeting.
Sources indicate that the meeting is scheduled for June 12. During this gathering, BJP legislators will choose their leader, determining who will assume the role of Chief Minister. This meeting is crucial as it will provide clarity on the future leadership and governance of the state.
