NAMSAI, Sep 27: In a strong display of solidarity, the Arunachal Pradesh Bhikkhu Sangha, in collaboration with the All Tai Khamti Singpho Students' Union (ATKSSU), All Namsai Youth Association (ANYA), and Mahila Mandal Namsai, organised a protest rally on Friday. The protest aims to raise awareness and condemn the brutal attacks and killings of indigenous and religious minorities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh.
The rally was held in Namsai, highlighting the ongoing violence reportedly perpetrated by the Bangladesh Army and fundamentalist groups. The recent attacks on the indigenous and religious minority people and other ethnic groups in the region have prompted the Buddhist and indigenous communities in Arunachal Pradesh to voice their outrage and call for international attention to this humanitarian crisis, said member from APBS.
"We stand together to denounce the atrocities committed against our indigenous brothers and sisters in the CHT. These heinous acts, sanctioned by military and extremist forces, must be condemned by the global community," said a spokesperson for the Arunachal Pradesh Bhikkhu Sangha.
The Bhikkhu Sangha further submitted a memorandum to the Government of India through DC Namsai appealing intervention in the situation in Bangladesh . The organizers emphasize that the peaceful protest is not only a call for justice but also a plea for global intervention to stop the escalating violence in Bangladesh.
