ITANAGAR, Dec 15: In a nail biting Pool A encounter between Bamang Taji FC and Arunachal Pradesh Police Sports Control Board (APPSCB) in the first match of the ongoing 8th Eagle Trophy Football Championship 2023 played today at Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium at Yupia, the former registered a hard fought win by a margin of 3-2. All goals came in the second half of the match.
After a goalless first half, it was BTFC that opened the score sheet in the 46th minute through Tamchi Tassung’s goal. APPSCB responded quickly and the equalizer was scored by Nivol Jungluju in the 61st minute. Sahil Chettry scored the penalty in the 84th minute to give lead to BTFC for the second time in the match which was again cut down by APPSCB through Millo Jilley’s goal in the 86th minute. Vijay Rai scored a perfectly placed goal in the 88th minute to completely turn the match in BTFC’s favour.
Capital Complex FC eased past Minu FC in the second match of the day by registering an 8-0 comfortable win to open their campaign in the championship on a high note in Pool B . Akash Taw and Rawan Hakun scored two goals each for CCFC while Dorjee Tsewang, Tagru James, Techi Tatra and Nabam Peri also contributed a goal each to give their team a thumping win.
