Itanagar, Apr 3: The Arunachal Wushu athletes were accorded a warm reception at the Naharlagun Railway Station by the All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association, President Tach Tadar and team to the participants of 23rd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship and Sub-Junior Khelo India Wushu Women’s League held at Jammu University, Jammu (UT J & K) from March 26 to 31last.
The Arunachal Team clinched 4 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze) . Altogether 19 wushu athletes (boys and girls) participated in both the tournaments in Sanda and Taolu events , which were conducted simultaneously at Jammu.
Miss Yani Eru bagged 2 golds each in Jianshu and Qiangshuevent in the 23rd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship.And she also bagged 1 bronze in Changquan event in Sub-Junior Khelo India Wushu Women’s League.
Mr Adi Natung bagged 1 silver under 52 KG weight category in Sanda event in the 23rd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship.
Both athletes are students of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu ( Itanagar) mentored under M.Premchandra Singh , Wushu Coach.
Arunachal Team was led by Techi Juna and Taug Ama as coach and manager respectively.
