Khandu inaugurates Arunachal Niwas, fourth facility in New Delhi

Itanagar, Aug 16: Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the 78th Independence Day with patriotism all across the state on Thursday.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu hoisted the national flag at main function held at Indira Gandhi Park in the state capital Itanagar.
Greeting the citizens on the occasion, CM Khandu, in his speech, sought people’s support for building a ‘Viksit Arunachal’ by 2047.
“The goal of building Viksit Arunachal cannot be achieved without the wholehearted support of each and every citizen of Arunachal Pradesh,” he said.
While highlighting the key initiatives taken by his government for the next five years, Khandu said his government is committed to strengthening the One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative, aiming to establish ODOP clusters in all districts over the next five years to boost local economies and create employment opportunities.
On the law and order front, the CM said that the Arunachal government is committed to utilizing new-age technologies for preventing crime and ensuring scientific investigations.
“We will adopt advanced technologies such as GIS, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics for crime mapping and monitoring, enhancing crime prevention and resolution,” he disclosed.
He also said that his government will develop a robust mechanism for the effective enforcement of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873 and Inner Line Permit framework for visitors coming to the state.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) also celebrated the Independence Day at Raj Bhavan Itanagar. The Echo Company of the 33rd Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, attached to Raj Bhavan, presented the Guard of Honour to mark the occasion.
In his address, the Governor extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on this historic occasion. He remarked that India’s Independence Day marks the birth of the world’s largest democracy and paid tribute to the brave sons and daughters of India who made the ultimate sacrifice to secure our freedom.
The Governor reverently recalled the values that guided our nation’s founding fathers, along with the contributions of our own freedom fighters, including Matmur Jamoh, Moje Riba, and many others who played crucial roles in the struggle for independence.
He emphasized that Independence Day is a powerful symbol of national unity and pride, offering a moment to reflect on our country’s remarkable journey, a journey that continues to inspire future generations. He highlighted that this celebration instills a sense of responsibility and patriotism in the youth, encouraging them to contribute positively to the nation’s progress.
In the context of our rapidly changing world, the Governor noted that the youth of our State are the torchbearers of tomorrow. He pointed out that our creativity, innovation, and determination will shape the future of India and urged everyone to embrace this responsibility with enthusiasm, working together to make the country a beacon of hope and progress.
The Governor and the First Lady of the State, Smt. Anagha Parnaik distributed sweets to the participating school children and officials on the joyous occasion. Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, along with department officials attached to Raj Bhavan, as well as students and teachers from Government and private Schools, participated in the celebration.
