Itanagar, Jun 21: Along with the rest of the world, the International Day of Yoga (IDY) was observed across Arunachal Pradesh much enthusiasm.
At Raj Bhavan,  Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), along with NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts and Guides, students and teachers from different schools of the Capital Complex and officers and officials of Raj Bhavan participated in the Yoga session which was conducted by Yoga instructors from Vivekananda Kendra, Itanagar.
Greeting the people of the State on the special occasion of IDY, the Governor said that Yoga, which originated in India, has now spread throughout the world.
The Governor said that the people from different parts of the world are taking interest in Yoga. In times of tension, depression and challenges, Yoga brings peace of mind and physical fitness. It has remedies for various physical challenges and diseases, he said.
The Governor appealed to the people to incorporate Yoga into their daily routines and lifestyles. He said that regular practice of Yoga will create positivity in life and working environment, which in turn will ensure better productivity and success in work and professional endeavours.
The Governor, who is an ardent practitioner of Yoga, advised the participants to do Yoga for at least 30 minutes daily. He also exhorted them to encourage and motivate their peers and family members to practice the pride of Indian tradition. 
As part of the International Day of Yoga, a special yoga session was organized today at the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The event saw participation from Speaker Tesam Pongte, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, several ministers, members of the Legislative Assembly, as well as officers and officials of the assembly.
The session aimed to highlight the importance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being, emphasizing its role in fostering a healthy lifestyle amidst the demanding schedules of legislative duties. 
Under the guidance of experienced yoga instructors, participants engaged in a series of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques designed to rejuvenate the body and mind.
Speaker Pongte remarked on the occasion, "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment. By embracing yoga, we not only enhance our physical health but also achieve a sense of inner peace and balance."
Deputy Speaker Nyigyor said, "The practice of yoga helps us manage stress and maintain a positive outlook in our professional and personal lives. It is heartening to see such active participation from our assembly members and officials."
The event was not only a celebration of International Day of Yoga but also an effort by the Assembly Secretariat to promote holistic health practices among its members.
