Itanagar, Aug 5: Arunachal Pradesh Jr. Boys Football Team advanced to the Semi Finals of Dr. BC Roy Trophy for Junior Boys National Football Championship 2024 by defeating Sikkim 3-0 in their last group match played today at Nagaon, Assam.
Initially pitted in Group C alongside Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, and Sikkim, the Arunachal team showcased remarkable performance. They secured a 5-0 victory against Andhra Pradesh in the opening match and triumphed over Himachal Pradesh with a 5-0 win in the second match, and third  match with Assam was held 2-2 draw. The final group match played on Monday was against Sikkim and goal from Milli Putum 4', Dodum Dari 26', Hanu Tari 65' led to a comfortable 3-0 victory against Sikkim.
Team Arunachal will play their Semi final match against Team Manipur on August 9 next.
The team is led by Head Coach Tapi Apa, Manager Doging Yubey, and Physiotherapist Miss Nabam Nadi. Their dedication and hard work has been instrumental in the team’s success.
