PASIGHAT, Oct 1: Troops of Spear Corps from Rayang in collaboration with the Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH), Pasighat, AAUN Foundation and AYANG today organized a voluntary blood donation camp, marking the National Blood Donation Day at the Rayang Military Station in East Siang district and donated remarkable 104 units blood.
During the camp, Hemoglobin testing and medical screening of the blood donors was also thoroughly carried out and benefits of blood donation were communicated to the donors.
On the occasion, Army Officers informed that the event was organized as part of “continued community responsibility and nation building”. The Army officials opined that lifestyle changes were the root cause of diseases. Lack of proper care on health management, changes in food habits, not paying attention to warning signs from the body were leading to various chronic diseases adding that people should adopt healthy practices like yoga, morning walk, good eating habits and avoid junk food to minimize health risks. They further assured that Indian Army would remain committed to the wellbeing of its citizens and would participate in such activities in future too to save precious lives. DIPRO, Pasighat
