PASIGHAT, Aug 14: As per direction of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Ministry of Power, Government of India, one day Awareness cum Training Programme was organized by APEDA East Siang today at the Siang Guest House conference hall.
Gracing as Chief Guest Dr. Manjuli Komut, CEO Pasighat Smart City, in her brief speech appealed to all the participants to gain knowledge on Energy Conservation awareness and to spread the message amongst the people of East Siang district. She encouraged the participants to use BEE star rating appliances to conserve energy. For sustainable development the long term availability of energy from non-conventional energy sources that are affordable, accessible and environment friendly is critical, she added.
In his keynote address APEDA Project Officer (PO) Er. Kape Badak highlighted the aim of the programme and schemes being implemented by the APEDA in terms of energy conservation like Solar Power Plant, Solar Street Light, Improved Chulla, Biogas plant, Solar Water Pump, Solar Cooker etc. He also threw light on the positive impact of energy conservation from use incandescent lamp to LED Bulb, Efficient appliances and use of renewable energy. 
While sharing his experiences with use of Energy Efficient Appliances (EEA) with BEE Star labeling, Badak stressed on use of latest electric appliances from where we can save energy & resources and dwelt about the importance of programme for choices of day to day energy efficient appliances. The PO suggested all the retailers to mandatorily use star rated electric appliances with an appeal to all participants to gain knowledge in the programme and to spread the awareness among the people.
Resource person Rana Pratap Poddar from IVENCO Ltd Kolkata presented the power point presentation and delivered the lecture on all BEE Star rated appliances. He also delivered the lecture on BEE Mobile application which is available on both androids & iOS platforms and role & responsibilities of retailers.
The programme was attended by more than 100 people including retailers, Self Help Groups, general public and unemployed youth attended the programme.
