ITANAGAR, Apr 2: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), on Tuesday, released the party manifesto, primarily assuring jobs to the unemployed, also promising improvement of health and education sectors of the state.
President APCC, Nabam Tuki, while officially releasing the party manifesto at the party office here on Tuesday said that the manifesto was drafted with consultation of youths, community-based organisation (CBOs), government workers, and others. Subsequently, considering the opinions and views, and also going through the present condition of the state, the final draft of the manifesto was released.
Tuki said that the party once in power will upgrade the entire government primary and middle schools with hostel facilities. Also, the party will construct model schools in every district of the state. Besides, the party will ensure compulsory stipend to APST students from preparatory to class-XII of all government as well as private schools.
He said the party, besides enhancing student’s stipend, will also frame the regulation of the fees in private institutions. The one-time regularisation of the SSA teachers of the state is also one among the many assurances by the party, which the present BJP government is implementing in a phase manner.
“Most importantly, the party will amend a new law to check question paper leakage in any of the state competitive examinations. The recent APPSC cash for job scam is an eyeopener for everyone which has lowered the moral and aspiration of the students. Therefore, the need is for a strong law,” he added.
In the health sector, Tuki said that the Congress besides regularising the contractual nursing staff within a year, will also fill the vacancies of nursing staff and doctors in all government medical institutions.
“We will establish super specialty hospitals in every district headquarters. Likewise, the amount of the chief minister’s health insurance scheme will also be enhanced. Moreover, the party promises cash incentives for the registered farmers of the state,” he said, adding the enhancement in the wage of laborers.
Congress in its manifesto also assured for the minimum support price (MSP) for agriculture and allied products, which has been the national concern. Besides, promises have been made on the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006 in the “right earnest”.
Improving educational, medical institutions and raising chit funds for police personnel, special grant of Rs 1 lakhs for women workers and youths. And, if the Congress wins in the centre, the party will establish 8th central pay commission.
“The formation for 8th CPC and scrapping the existing National Pension Scheme (NPS) has been put on priority for the security of the state and central government job holders,” he added.
Tuki said that the Congress has played a major role in bringing vital development in the state as well as in the country. Now, though the party has fielded 34 candidates for the assembly polls, of which 19 candidates refrained from contesting for various reasons. However, we strongly believe that the party will rise again to be the change in the state and the country.
