New Delhi, Sep 11: Iken Lollen, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) from District Hospital Seppa, East Kameng, has been awarded the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award 2024 for her outstanding contributions to healthcare. The award was conferred by President Droupadi Murmu, in the presence of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, at a ceremony on Wednesday in Rastrapati Bhawan.
Lollen, with a remarkable 39 years of service, has dedicated her career to improving healthcare services for the hilly and tribal communities of Arunachal Pradesh. Her commitment to immunization campaigns, maternal and child health, and family planning services has made a significant impact on the region. Known for her passion and dedication, Lollen has previously been recognized with numerous awards and certificates for her exemplary work.
The National Florence Nightingale Award, instituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 1973, recognises the exceptional contributions of nurses and nursing professionals to society. Lollen was one of 15 nurses honored at this year's ceremony for their selfless service and commitment to improving public health.
