ITANAGAR, Dec 2: State civil servants from across the state attended the certification programme conducted as per the Election Commission of India directive at Itanagar.
Ten National Level Master Trainers arrived at Itanagar to impart trainings to the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers of Assembly Constituencies and Assistant Returning Officers of Parliamentary Constituencies.
As per the ECI instructions, five days certification programme is being conducted by the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Itanagar, in three halls of Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre, Itanagar. The certification programme is being conducted in two phases viz. first phase from November 28 to December 2 and the second phase from December 4 to 8 next.
The exhaustive training programme covers topics on qualification and disqualification, withdrawal of candidature and allotment of symbol, district election management plan, model code of conduct, paid news and MCMC, expenditure monitoring, IT applications, Postal ballot, EVM and VVPAT administration, polling party and poll day arrangement, counting and declaration of results etc.
The evaluation was done online and it was directly monitored by the ECI. Shania Kayem Mize, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer is the State Nodal Officer Training. The elections in the state of Arunachal Pradesh is scheduled next year in 2024.
