Dirang, Oct 5: The Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Dirang, accompanied by officials, recently visited the Dirang Small Hydro Power Project (4x500 kW) to assess the ongoing renovation and modernization (R&M) efforts. The project, in operation since 1978, plays a crucial role in providing hydroelectric power to the West Kameng district.
The ADC and the team of officials reviewed the progress of the R&M project, which aims to extend the operational life of the power facility. The project encompasses work on various critical components, including the power channel, desilting tank, weir, and intake. Both civil and electromechanical aspects of the project have been tendered, with execution overseen by Bomdila Hydro Power Division - I, Department of Hydro Power Development.
This R&M initiative addresses the ageing infrastructure of the power project, ensuring its continued efficiency and reliability. Upon completion, it is expected to significantly increase power generation capacity, benefiting the local community. ( DIPRO)
