ITANAGAR, Sep 28: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) participated in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) conclave, which commemorated the 75 years celebrations of the organization, at VKV Chimpu on Thursday.
Emphasising on leadership and responsibility amongst students, he advised to imbibe the spirit of selflessness to enhance oneself.
"If our youth are literate, disciplined and inspirational, the development of the State will follow," he said. The Governor called upon the youth of the State to contribute in the developmental progress by promoting unity and goodwill amongst the people.
Stating the ABVP is one of the largest student organizations in the world, the Governor appealed to the youth to participate in creating awareness on health issues and drug menace and help in its eradication. He also exhorted the students to be involved in preserving the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the State.
The Governor shared his thoughts about National Education Policy 2020, Vibrant Village Programme and health issues with the participants of the ABVP Sangam, which included professional, officers and political leaders who are former ABVP volunteers.  
Advisor to Chief Minister Tai Tagak, State ABVP President Dr. Bijay Raji and State ABVP Secretary Tatlom Tayeng spoke on the occasion. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan delivered the keynote address.
Large number of students associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Arunachal Pradesh and ABVP functionaries attended the ‘Sangam’.
