Aalo, Sep 11: In line with the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Aalo is gearing up to participate in the nationwide “Swatchhata Hi Seva 2024” (SHS) campaign. A meeting was convened today chaired by Mabi Taipodia Jini, In-charge Deputy Commissioner of West Siang District to discuss the comprehensive plan for the campaign, which will be observed from September 14 to October 2 next. This initiative is aimed at promoting cleanliness and sustainable waste management across the town and surrounding areas as part of the larger effort under the SBM.
The chairperson highlighted the government’s dedication to ensuring the success of this initiative, urging all departments and stakeholders to give their full cooperation and maximum effort. Jini emphasized the importance of clean public spaces and hygienic living conditions.
Er. Hali Welly, EE Urban Development & Housing (UD & H), Aalo, provided an overview of the Swatchh Bharat Mission and the progress made over the past decade. He noted that Aalo has benefitted from the mission consistently ranking among the cleanest towns in Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized the need for renewed efforts in the upcoming SHS 2024 campaign.
Further he informed that the campaign will culminate with a special Swatchhata Rally and award ceremony on 2nd October, celebrated as Swachhata Diwas to recognize the best-performing departments, schools and individuals in the cleanliness drives. The Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign promises to make a lasting impact on the cleanliness, sustainability, and public health of Aal.
The meeting was attended by all HoDs Admin Officers, ZPC, ZPMs, ITBP, BRTF, Indian Army, principals and Headmasters of Educational Institutions, NGOs, SHGs, Market Welfare Associations, President and Secretaries of various sectors.
