AALO, Oct 7: The 69th National Wildlife Week was celebrated in GHSS Aalo by Along Forest Division in collaboration with NGO-Clean and Green Aalo on Saturday with the theme 'Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation'.
DFO Gopin Padu in his speech expressed gratitude to the Indian Army and ITBP Jawans for their support and emphasized on safeguarding wildlife and forests which plays pivotal role for human existence. He said it is not possible for the forest department alone to protect forest resources and environment and sought cooperation of all section of society in protection of wildlife.
Chairman Clean and Green Aalo and Principal GHSS in their speech stressed on equal importance for wildlife and forests on mother earth.
While applauding the Forest Department, the Commandant Army & Commandant ITBP informed that Aalo is blessed with nature and wildlife, and requested the public especially the youth to preserve it for future generation.
Expressing concern over rampant degradation of forests and wildlife the ZPC Tumpe Ete advised the Forest Department to organise more events and awareness programme in rural areas and assured his full support for protecting and preserving wildlife and forests.
Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato praised the Forest Department and Clean Green Aalo for initiating the campaign for protection of wildlife for posterity and spreading awareness regarding human-wildlife conflict. In his address, he focused on Drug abuse & Drug menace and laid stressed on Sustainable Development.
An awareness rally was also carried out in the entire town.
