PASIGHAT, Sep 28: More than 500 farmers benefitted from a weeklong awareness cum training programme under the state government flagship schemes of Atma Nirbhar Bhagwani Yojana (ANBY) & Atma Nirbhar Plantation Yojana(ANPY) organized by the department of horticulture, East Siang which concluded today. The dept. of horticulture imparted training to the farmers of Ruksin, Sille-Oyan, Yagrung, Mebo,Namsing and Bilat Circles from September 18 onwards.
The training aimed to create awareness among farmers about horticulture schemes implemented by the department in the district and to impart need based training for improving the cultivation practices of horti crops for overall economic benefits.
The highlights included sensitization sessions on the significance of ANBY and ANPY schemes, sessions on potential of exotic crops Avocado, Longan, Rambutan and Mangosteen, potentials of banana crop for commercial cultivation etc including pest management.
