PASIGHAT, Jul 26: The Spear Corps of the Indian Army today celebrated 'Rajat Jayanti' (25th Anniversary) of 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' with a grand weapon display and cultural programme, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Kargil War victory. The event showcased the Indian Army's rich heritage and military prowess, paying tribute to the brave-hearts who fought valiantly for the nation. 
Senior Military Officers during the address to the gathering paid rich tributes to the brave hearts of the Kargil War, highlighting the gallant action, indomitable spirit and courage of the Indian Armed Forces and reaffirmed the commitment to protect the nation.
The cultural programme featured performances by local dance troupes and vocal artists and performances by Cadets of Sainik School Niglok, while the weapon display showcased the latest state-of-the-art military equipment & technology.
The event was attended by senior Army officials from Sigar Military Station, civil dignitaries including Vice Chancellor of Arunachal Pradesh State University Tomo Riba, DC Tayi Tagu, SP Dr Sachin Kumar Singhal and Indian Army veterans. The event was open to the local populace who joined in large numbers. More than 1000 locals including cadets from NCC and Students of Rashtriya Raksha University and civilians from all walks of life attended the event and made it a resounding success.
Motivational Seminars were also conducted in the week preceding the event at Kendriya Vidhyalaya Pasighat, Don Bosco School Mebo and Rashtriya Raksha University Pasighat. Students and Cadets were shown movies on Kargil War and role of Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War of 1999. Students eagerly asked questions, displaying their enthusiasm and curiosity.
