TEZU, Jul 28: As a part of the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship (SBSI) programme, over 26 youths from the Bapu Welfare Society (BWS) comprising school and college students enthusiastically participated in a cleanliness and beautification drive of the main market place here on July 27 last.
Besides cleaning the main market premises, the volunteers undertook plantation of flowers with protective coverings on both sides of the market road.
The SBSI is being organized successfully in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra and Agriculture & Horticulture Department which commenced on June 10 last and will continue till July 31.
It has a duration of 50 hours with activities such as spreading awareness on plastic waste management, along with wall painting, gardening and beautification of Tezu township.
