BOMDILA, Oct 17: The zonal review meeting on doubling farmer’s income by 2022 for the districts of Tawang, West Kameng and East Kameng for the departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Fisheries, KVKs and Horticulture was held today at district headquarters Bomdila.
Reiterating on the need for submitting sustainable schemes and proposals targeting doubling of farmer’s income as stipulated and motivating farmers are the key to success, said Secretary Agriculture & Horticulture, Bidol Tayeng.
Calling upon the officers and field functionaries to walk the talk by thinking out of the box and being pro-active, the Secretary directed that small and marginal farmers should be given equal leverage to ensure equitable growth and income.
Advocating for the success of the flagship programme, Secretary Tayeng emphasized on proper implementation, supervision and monitoring of the schemes. 
Earlier, ADC (HQ) Gombu Tsering appreciating the endeavors being made by the officers of the departments in achieving the target opined that a little more concerted effort would go a long way in realizing the dream.
He also spoke on Swachhta Hi Seva and urged the departmental officers and the field functionaries to spread the message of cleanliness in their respective districts.
Director Agriculture A Lego and Director Horticulture J Rime also addressed the officers and asked for timely submission of UCs, proper Signage’s of the projects, Geo-tagging and filing of success stories.
It was also observed that the marketing facilities and mechanisms for the produce in the state needs to be improved and decided upon to take up the matter with the appropriate authorities.
Departmental officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Fisheries and KVKs of the three districts reviewed the status on doubling the farmers’ income by 2022 and on centrally sponsored and state plan schemes for the year including new proposals for the year 2019-20.
Among others, Jt. Directors Agriculture and Horticulture were present in the meeting.
The Secretary accompanied with the Directors and Jt. Directors would be visiting farms and projects in the district and at Tawang and East Kameng. DIPRO
