Likabali, Aug 14: Department of Youth Affairs in collaboration with the Lower Siang administration organized a Youth Exchange Programme themed ‘Youths are Future and Future is Youths’ here at Government Higher Secondary School on August 12-14.
It was an educational and cultural exchange programme which saw inter-school extempore speech, inter-tribe cultural contest, workshop on adventure sports and a mass social service at the school campus. The aim of the programme was to provide youths an opportunity to interact with each other and encourage traditional cultural dance,  making them aware of the career options available in adventure sports as well as personality development and mutual understanding through an interaction programme. Participants from various Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of the district actively took part in the events including teams from adjoining areas of Assam.
Divisional Forest Officer, Likabali, Bajum Taba encouraged the participants to indulge in extracurricular activities to build personality. On the second day of the event,  Everester Taka Tamut attended as Resource Person in adventure sports workshop and highlighted the related career options, besides sharing his experience of the Everest expedition.
