PASIGHAT, Jun 2:
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Pasighat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India launched Swacch Bharat Abhiyan Summer Internship programme in East Siang District in which five youth clubs are participating in the initial stage.
The youth clubs will cleanup selected locations for 100 hours which will be culminate on July 31next. The first team was launched on Friday at Ranaghat Check Gate area which was flagged off by Dr Mindip Perme, DMO East Siang District cum Chairman District Health Society amidst huge participation from all walks of life.
Today’s programme was launched by Local MLA, Kaling Moyong, in presence of Kaling Doruk, Chief Councilor PMC Pasighat and Tapun Taki District Youth Coordinator NYK, Pasighat amidst a large gathering at High Region today.
While appreciating the efforts, Kaling Moyong and Dr Mindip Perme appealed to the local dwellers to cooperate and support with NYK Pasighat in their yeoman services. “Pasighat being one of the selected smart cities in the country needs to maintain cleanliness at all cost and onus is on us to make Pasighat plastic and dirt free city in future,” Moyong added.
Tapun Taki District Youth Coordinator NYK Pasighat explained the purpose and need for conducting the summer internship in the district and said that the best performing clubs will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 30000, Rs. 20000 and Rs. 10000.
