KAMBA, May 29: The Keak Youth Club (KYC) has drawn the attention of RWD Executive Engineer West Siang, towards inordinate delay in completing the PMGSY road project from Keak village to Kesi Tali village, West Siang.
In a three-point memorandum, it claimed that only 30% percent of work has been executed and the condition of the rest of the road against which the funds were allocated still remains in deplorable condition.
Armed with RTI documents, it also alleged that the concerned department is violating the PMGSY guidelines illegally and released 50 percent of payments to contractors. It is learned through RTI that the deadline to complete the said road project was November 10, 2018.
Further, KYC urged the EE to direct the concerned authority to start the work within 15 days while strictly following the Detail Project Report. It also threatened to launch democratic movement if their demand is not fulfilled within the stipulated timeline. newsdesk
