ITANAGAR, Feb 6: The intellectual youth forum of Palin Chambang Yangte Gangte & Tarak Lengdi, under Kra-Daadi district, demanded the deletion of the entire bogus voters under Rai Ballo polling station, Gangte circle of 18-Palin assembly constituency.
Addressing the media at the press club today, a resident of Rai Ballo polling station, Tam Takang Higang said that the matter of bogus and enrolment of non-APST voters was earlier placed before the AERO of the district. However, neither the AERO or the concerned DC initiated any action upon the complaint.
He also claimed that Chakma enrollment has also been seen in the district. This actually should raise eyebrows of the DC, as the matter of the Chakma community in the state is very sensitive. Therefore, the officials should immediately delete the non-APST and double voter list.
“Despite organizing a one man one vote campaign in the district, the district administration has failed to check the bogus and double voter list. They should have initiated action upon such malpractices,” he said, alleging the DC of his involvement in the scam.
The forum demanded the deletion of the double voter list, the removal of non-residential voters, especially the Chakma voter. Also, the married women now settled with their husbands in other districts.
He also said that there are many individuals from the district who have multiple voter IDs with slight changes in photo, name and surname. So, such voters should be identified and accordingly deleted by the district election officers, he added.
Higang claimed that there are around 300 bogus voters of the total of 800 voters under Rai Ballo polling station. And to check it, the forum demands face-to-face hearing at the district headquarters, Palin.
