Aalo, Feb 1: The much awaited Yomgo River Festival unfolded in a colourful manner on the right bank of the Yomgo river today.
Attending the function as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, Minister Tourism, Tax & Excise, Jarkar Gamlin, and Deputy Speaker Arunachal Legislative Assembly,Tumke Bagra,  said that such festivals are organised in different parts of the state to promote domestic and foreign tourists to showcase our culture and natural beauty to outsiders.
Hospitality being a watch word for promoting such avenues,both the Minister and the Deputy Speaker exhorted all to put an all-out effort to make it a yearly calendar event in the district. All districts where such festivals are celebrated for three consecutive years have been placed in the calendar events of the state for yearly celebration through government funding and support. It should be ensured that festival comes to an end without any law and order problem, they stressed.
The cultural participants from Tirap and Longding also took part in the celebration to showcase their rich culture. Celebrated singer, Sonu Nigam will entertain the cultural night on the second day of the festival. DIPRO
