ITANAGAR, Jun 1: With the rest of the world, “World No Tobacco Day” was organized by District Tobacco Control Cell, Yupia in collaboration with TRIHMS, IMA and RNTCP on May 31 at TRIHMS premises, with the theme “Tobacco & Lung Health”. The programme started with welcome speech by Dr. Moji Jini, Director, TRIHMS. Dr. Radhe Natung, Nodal Officer, NCD, TRIHMSH gave overview of COTPA. 
The ASNS Nursing students performed skit on “Tobacco & Lung Health”. Speech on Holistic approach to tobacco free life was given by Brahmakumaris Raj Yoga Centre, Itanagar. 
“No spitting” wall posters & banners were handed over by Dr. Subu Tasso Kampu, DMO, Yupia to the CMS, TRIHMS.  Later, Deputy Commissioner, ICC Himanshu Gupta launched “No Tobacco Zone” Campaign at the premises. TCC signboard was unveiled by the Dr. M. Perme,  DMO, ICC. All the participants took the “No Tobacco Pledge”. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. R.R.Ronya, DPO (NCD), Yupia.
Frisking of tobacco products was done by the IMA doctors, MBBS students and staffers of TRIHMS. The DC, ICC & Director, TRIHMS & other faculty members inspected the TRIHMS Campus and visited the wards and gave awareness on tobacco free hospital. DIPRO
