ROING, Mar 15: The World Consumer Rights Day was observed in the Jomin Tayeng Model Degree College, Jia today where students and faculty members of the college took part in the programme.
Principal Monshi Tayeng advised the students to know and learn their consumer rights. C. S. Singpho, Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology, Roing explained about the rights of consumer, Legal aspect of Legal Metrology Act 2009, Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011 and Law of Consumer Protection Act 1986 before the gathering.
He urged the gathering to lodge complaints in the District Forum/ consumer court in case of defective goods and deficiency in services confronted during the course of commercial transaction with a trader or any other business establishment for redressal of consumer grievances.
Booklets/leaflets that contained the detailed message for consumer education and awareness were distributed to all the participants. DIPRO
