Aalo, Dec 23: A Sensitization and Consultation Workshop on Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Drinking Water Catchment Area Bill 2019 was conducted today under the chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner attended by HoDs, ATPDBS, Galo Ane, public leaders, APWWS and CHGBs.
DC while reminding the need for rejuvenating the existing sources of water to cater to the growing needs of an ever expanding population said that the said legislation aims to protect the catchment areas of all water sources. In this regard she assured that people should not worry since all lands near water sources will be duly notified and records will be kept by the government and asked all CHGBs and HGBs to draw public opinion on the draft bill. Executive Engineer PHED Er. Kirba Sora explained details of the draft bill and said that it will protect all catchment areas of the state. Ex. Minister Doi Ado, former ZPM Tumpe Ete, AGS ATPWDS Kirdo Ete, Marbom Riba Bagra representing APWWS Aalo, President Galo Ane Hongam Ango Ete and officers attending the meeting spoke on the need for such legislation. 
AEs PHED Er. Bomi Nyorak and Geli Noshi gave a detailed deliberation on the draft bill through Power Point Presentation. Few CHGBs and HGBs who were apprehensive of losing their jungle lands through the legislation were asked to conduct awareness workshops within their respective jurisdictions and submit reports within December 26.
