AALO, Sep 24: - BRO labour Union of North Eastern Region conducted one day awareness workshop and registration drive in collaboration with Joint working Committee of Arunachal Pradesh Trade Union (JWCAPTU) here at Gumin Kiin on Sunday last.
Altogether 158 labourers were registered on the spot under the initiative of Jumnu Ligo, Registering Officer APB&OCWWB.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Commanding Officer -44 BRTF Thumbin, Darsi Prakash said that BRTF is engaging large number of labour force to carry out different road heads in the district and the organisation is doing its best to boost the morale of the labours to imbibe work culture to carry out roads works in difficult terrains of border areas.
Welfare of the workforce like timely payments, opening of schools for offspring of labours and healthcare through their own doctors is being given due care, he added.
Attending the event as Guest of Honour, DIPRO, West Siang Gijum Tali appealed the union leaders to disseminate various labour welfare legislations and flagship programmes initiated by state and central government that can ameliorate the condition of labours.
