BOMDILA, Oct 23: The 3-day workshop on Waste Management under Swachhta Hi Seva programme at Bhalukpong concluded today on a promising note.
The programme aimed at creating awareness & focusing on capacity building, surveying current waste management practices, Hands-on training on up-cycling of waste plastic, paper, glass and cardboard, exploring possibilities for livelihood creation for unemployed youths, management of e-waste and cleanliness cum graffiti art campaign for beautification of public places.
Wastes such as plastic, cardboard, glass and discarded tyres & tubes were given a new lease of life by the participants.
Resource persons from Northeast Waste Collective (NWC) and Planet Green imparted the three days training.
The workshop was jointly organized by the local administration of Bhalukpong in collaboration with the Circle Tourism office and PHED Bomdila Division. DIPRO
