ITANAGAR, Jan 22: A one day state level workshop on DigiLocker, the free digital wallet service for citizens was organized today for the Head of Departments and officials at Nokmey Namati Hall, Legislative Assembly, Itanagar.
It aims to fulfill the objective of digital empowerment of citizens by providing access to their authentic documents anytime, anywhere. It will be a paperless service delivery eliminating the use of physical documents and enables use of verified electronic documents across agencies. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to issue certificates of citizens directly in their DigiLocker in electronic format. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Practically,it will bring the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Information Technology and Communication in association with National e-Governance Division under Ministry of Electronics and IT(MeitY), Government of India.
Director IT&C, Neelam Yapin Tana in her address urged all to be part of DigiLocker ecosystem and help realize Digital India vision.
Technical presentation was made Debabrata Nayak, Additional Director, National e-Governance Division and technical support was provided by National Informatics Center.

The workshop also witnessed integration of two Arunachal Government Services namely – eServices and Inner Line Permit – and formally launched by Sonam Chombay, Secretary IT & C. With this, currently six eServices certificates namely SC/ST Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Income Certificate, Residence Certificate, Dependency Certificate and Character Certificate will be accessible to the state residents in their DigiLocker account for more convenience. Similarly, visitors to Arunachal Pradesh can now access their ILP from their DigiLocker account. Speaking on the occasion Chombay also appealed to the Education, Land Records, PDS and Transport departments to provide documents in digital format as well as use the documents in digital format using DigiLocker.

DigiLocker can be accessed on web at https://digilocker.gov.in. Documents such as Aadhaar, Driving License, Vehicle Registration, PAN, LPG Subscription Voucher are available through DigiLocker in digital format.
The workshop ended on an encouraging note with good number of enthusiastic participants turning up from various stakeholder departments. DIPR
