3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Nov 12: The state workshop on Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) was held at Hotel Waii International today organized by Department of Health & Family Welfare, Arunachal Pradesh with support from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and World Health Organization. District RCH Officer, AEFI committee member and Computer Assistant of Routine Immunization program participated in the training with resource persons from MoHFW and WHO.
The Director of Health services, Dr M Lego exhorted all the participants to work together in unison to achieve the goal of scaling more than 90% full Immunization by December.
He also advised all DRCHOs to be more proactive and lead the district team in delivering quality vaccination program in the districts. The Director Family Welfare Dr K Lego encouraged all the participants to introspect district-wise and take urgent corrective action during Mission Indradhanush rounds.
He also reaffirmed that vaccination program is one of the most cost effective human interventions ever and we need to provide this advantage to the children of our state.
Earlier the State Immunization Officer Dr D Padung while welcoming all the participants, stressed on the continuous orientation on all the tenets of Routine Immunization so that the quality vaccination sessions are institutionalized. Further, over the years, AEFI surveillance system has been able to detect and mitigate all adverse events reported. He also underlined the importance of proper documentation, reporting, investigation for corrective actions and to enhance the efficiency of reporting system, MoHFW have developed online portal, Vaccine Adverse Event Information Management System (VAEIMS) which has to be utilized.
