ITANAGAR, Nov 20: A two day State Level Workshop and Training as a part of Public Awareness and Information, Education and Communication under the component of Swachh Bharat Mission [Urban] was organized by Department of Urban Development and Housing here at Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre on November 19-20.
In his address, Secretary UD, SK Jain said penalty will be levied if garbage is littered beyond designated location by citizens by enacting/framing a specific law. He urged all participants to take the workshop and training seriously so that implementation of SBM [U] at ground level could be done with ease and could effectively eradicate Open Defecation.
Chief Engineer-cum-Director [UD&H] – cum – Mission Director, SBM [U], Taba Tedir, emphasized the need and importance of segregation of solid waste at source, which will help to dispose of solid waste in a proper and scientific way.
The technical session of the workshop and training spread over two days, was participated by SBM Brand Ambassador Committee [Nav Ratnas] Officers and Official from Itanagar Municipal Council, Pasighat Municipal Council, representative from Itanagar and Naharlagun Market Committee, Auto & Tempo Union etc.
