ITANAGAR, Apr 25: Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB) distributed cash benefits to at least 21 beneficiaries in various categories. Chairman Jalley Sonam handed over the draft to all the beneficiaries in his office today.
Speaking to media, Sonam informed that cash benefits (Draft) are of different categories like education benefit, marriage, maternity, and deaths as per the board norms.  “The cheque was supposed to be distributed in March last but due to lockdown, the distribution was called off. However, we felt that this benefit will help the beneficiaries during this lockdown and so today we have distributed it to at least 21 members residing in the capital region.”
He disclosed that due to the lockdown, the board hasn’t been able to reach out to many more beneficiaries across the districts.
The Chairman also clarified that since its establishment, the board has been maintaining accountability and prefer demand draft /cheque for such benefits over online transfer. When asked about, two-month cash benefit to the unorganized daily wage earners as sanctioned by the state government, Sonam informed that the board has already released more than 33 Lakh for 2738 unorganized labourers as directed by the state government for the two months.  Each labourer will get Rupees 4000 for the month of March and April directly to their account.
